Easy Ribbon Roses (folded ribbon)

Here's a fun little project for your longer ribbon scraps. Make them into fun little roses for hair clips, gifts and other stuff.
              
Double sided ribbon looks the best for this project. Once you get the hang of it you'll be pounding these things out. The first one is the hardest. : )
                             
I did a little photo slideshow to show you how to make these little fun things. I can't wait to have a new video camera so I can just do video tutorials. :)

Aaron's 2nd birthday - Cupcake Cake

So... I have only ever done one other cupcake cake (it was as skull so it was pretty easy). The theme for Aaron's birthday was trucks. He likes blue so of course it had to be a blue truck :) 

                                 

I now understand why people use toys on a cake. I prefer to put only edible things on cakes but have you tried to make a truck out of gum paste that looked good? I couldn't. If so, you're way better than me. I love it when family asks for a cake and lets me try different stuff. It's fun to not do the same thing all the time.

                                      

I'm so glad to be back on my computer. I don't have all my programs and things back yet but I'm working on it. My birthday is coming up and I have to make a decision about cake. I know I'm all grown up but come on, who doesn't cake on thier birthday?! Help me make my choice, what is your favorite kind of cake (or dessert).

UPDATE: I just got a call about my laptop.    :`(     I was informed that my files are unable to be saved.  I lost everything.    :((     It's okay though, all my daughter's pictures were on my external hard drive. I can not wait to get all my programs back up and running so I can share the things I have been working on.  Note to readers: If you have priceless pictures or files on your computer back them up on CD or a hrd drive or something.

I know I haven't updated. It's been a rough couple weeks. My beloved laptop and I had an argument and I lost. She, yes it's a girl, is being repared and I should have her back very soon. In the mean time I have some things to share:

Happy 4th of July!

Hey crafters!! I made these cupcakes for our annual family 4th of July party. If you are looking for a cupcakes idea these are so easy my 7 year old helped. :) To make the batter red use paste icing color (Wilton paste color can be found at Micheals, Walmart and Hobby Lobby.)

The cake is vanilla colored red and baked as usual. I used a filling tip to put white icing on the inside of the cupcakes then used a large star tip to make a swirl top.

                                             

Easy fast idea for last minute bakers like me. lol The blue icing got down in the white when I was trying to cut it for the picture. Eh, you get the point. ;)
