5 minute card

1.27.2009

This paper is Blanc Sparkles from Paper Temptress came in today and I couldn't help but to openthe package the second I had my hands on it. You know I love me some paper!!

The white has sparkles in the paper that make is look like it's been glittered but without the mess. I wish it had shown up better in the picture. Used a water pen to color the bunnies. I love making cards that are quick and easy.

Quick card from scraps

1.24.2009

You know how I can't stand to give up paper! This card is from my scrap bin. It's an addiction. Whatever doesn't get sucked up into a scrapbook ends up in the drawers, seperated by color. Paper is an obsession.

Items used: Bazzil cardstock, SU! Always stamp, black ink, Ribbon from the $1 bin @ Micheals, prima flower and brads. For once there is a project I didn't rub ink on the edges of. lol!

New Chain Mail weave

I worked long and hard to learn the weave called roundmaille. It is a hard weave to get started. On the other hand the Byzantine is much easier and has really become one of my favorite weaves to work on. Now, I know you all like paper crafts but I had to share these with you too. What do you think? Did I do an okay job on my first roundmaille?

Wedding invites

Here are some fun wedding invitations I've been working on. You can't really see the watermark dragonfly with white glitter but I promise it is there. My buddy Lyndzie is getting married!!! Over the next few months there will be many posts about crafts for her wedding.  : )

For some reason this is a horrid picture. ?? I think I had the settings wrong on my camera. Anyway, you get the point. I printed the white cardstock, punched the hole, put eyelet holes in to thread the ribbon through and then stamped with versa. Hope you like it!

Coupon Organizer

1.06.2009

So it's 2009 and I have some goals. One of them is to start using coupons. Everyone can use to save a few bucks right? More money for craft supplies. lol. So, this is a file folder, folded and covered in pretty paper (scraps). The ribbon is from SU! I printed the shopping list, notes and to do list on my computer using MS Word.

I left the cover kind of plain because I like the pattern so much. Click the pictures to see larger. As if you didn't know by now.  :)

I have a couple questions for you all:
What are our goals for 2009?
What would you like to see in the giveaway this month?
I am doing 2 pendants but have no idea what else to include!!

The instructions for folding are located here. Thanks for visiting!

How to make a cheap lightbox

1.02.2009

Okay. You asked for it. Click pictures to see larger.

You need:
5 peices of foam core board. (about $1.50/sheet at Walmart).
White or light colored tape (I used white duct tape).
1 poster board ($0.39 at Walmart)
2 lamps, just about anything will work, with bright WHITE light bulbs. These can be light you have around the house.

Step 1. Get someone to help you hold the foam core and using tape, tape the OUTSIDE of the box together. Duct tape works great for this. You will notice that the two side pieces are sticking out from teh rest of the box. I scored these (box cutter lightly over it) to use them as flaps on the front. You can cut them off if you want. I thought it would be more surface to bounce light off of so I kept them.

Step 2. Use some tape to put up the poster board against the back. This give you a seamless white background. Posterboard comes in a variety of colors so you have lots of options in backgroud colors.

Step 3. Light up your box with whatever lamps you have around (with WHITE bulbs) or purchase a couple table lamps (the ones with the moveable arms would be best). Place them int he box pointing up or against the sides. This will flood light into the box. If you point the light directly at the object you may get glare. Play around with this. After changing the lights, trying now flash and with flash you'll find the setup you like the best. Happy shooting!
Below is a picture of 2 binderclips that I took in my lighbox. Click to see larger. Please let me know if this tutorial works for you and if you have any other questions. :) I hope this helped.

Thank you!

I got the coolest gift from my sister in law. She got me a new stamp set!! I LOVE it. The stamps are from SU! Pattern paper is a scrap of Chatterbox. Bazzil cardstock, as if you hadn't guessed by now. That's all I use. lol.

I really love that stamp. It was fun to color too. I used a water pen and some random ink pads I had in my ink drawer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you wonderful blog readers. I built my lightbox so my pictures should be getting better. Let me know what you think of my picture.   : )    It is actually the colors the card is. I'm in shock! Why didn't I build a lightbox sooner?! January means it's giveaway time again! I'm working on giveaway items.  Stay tuned. ;)
